Donaghadee Cricket Club held their annual AGM last week. Set at the Clubhouse at Northfield it was a chance for club players and members to meet, review the last 12 months and discuss plans for the coming year.
Chairman Freddie Gilroy and Hon Secretary Brian McLawrence presided over proceedings with the emphasis on preparing the club for the challenge of Section 2 cricket after many barren years of languishing in the basement of Section 3.
The Treasurers report stated that the club was in a much more healthier state than in previous years.
After the success of last year, Jordan McCluskey was unanimously voted in as 1st XI Captain again for the 2017 season, with Michael Martin acting as the Vice Captain.
The 2nd XI will be taken charge by the team of Freddie Gilroy and Andrew McLawrence.
The club hopes that all players make themselves available as much as possible for the forthcoming season and would welcome any new players – whether they be experienced or not – in joining up. For more details please refer to the club website.
